Our commitment
SUPABETS has put in place flexible plans and safety measures to enable customers to manage their activities. We will always take the necessary steps to prevent gaming-related problems.
Key guidance
- Gamble for fun — only with funds you can afford to lose.
- Decide in advance how much time and money you will spend, then respect that decision.
- Use Deposit Limits to personalise your spending (My Account > Responsible Gambling).
- Don’t chase losses and don’t ask for credit to gamble.
- Ensure you know the rules of the game and the house edge.
- Balance gambling with other leisure activities.
- Do not gamble to escape loneliness or depression.
- Do not gamble if your clarity is impaired by alcohol or drugs.
If betting becomes a problem — take a break
Problem gambling can show through high spending, poor work performance, relationship difficulties, theft, lying or depression. If gambling stops being entertainment for you, consider taking a break and contact our customer service team for assistance.
Self-check test (quick)
If you answered yes to more than five of these questions in the last 12 months, gambling may be a serious problem and you should seek help:
- Has betting/gambling caused you problems at work or home?
- Has betting/gambling caused arguments or serious problems with family, friends or colleagues?
- Have you tried to hide the amount you wanted to bet from family or friends?
- Do you sometimes say you are winning when you are actually losing?
- Have you needed to increase the frequency of betting to keep it exciting?
- Have you used gambling to escape personal problems or to feel better?
- After losing money gambling, did you immediately gamble again to try to win it back?
- Have you tried to collect money for bets by illegal acts (false cheques, stealing, etc.)?
- Have you gambled even though you promised not to, or for longer than you intended?
If you feel gambling is no longer entertainment, consider taking a break and seek help. You can visit Gambling Therapy for support.
Vulnerable and underage persons
It is illegal for anyone under 18 to open a betting account or place a bet with SUPABETS. We may request proof of identity (including age). If we discover an underage or vulnerable person operates an account, the account will be closed and any winnings forfeited.
Persons under 18 are not permitted at SUPABETS outlets. If you suspect an underage person is using SUPABETS, please contact our Help Center.
Setting limits
Deposit limits
You can limit deposits daily, weekly or monthly via My Account > Responsible Gambling. Changes take effect immediately upon instruction.
Self-exclusion
If you need a break, you can self-exclude for a minimum period of 90 days. During self-exclusion your account will be suspended and SUPABETS will make reasonable efforts to prevent new accounts being opened by you during the exclusion period. You can also request account closure at any time.
We encourage self-excluded customers to remove SUPABETS notifications and uninstall any SUPABETS apps or bookmarks. If an excluded person is identified at a physical outlet, an authorised staff member will request they leave the premises.
To request self-exclusion: My Account > Responsible Gambling > Self-exclusion.
Signage & advertisement
SUPABETS posts notices stating the legal gambling age at all outlets and ensures media materials and adverts include a responsible gaming message. Our adverts do not mislead viewers regarding the opportunities to benefit from gambling — gambling is promoted as entertainment, not a guaranteed way to make money.
Staff training & compliance
Our staff receive training and refresher training on responsible gaming policy and how to help customers with gaming-related problems. Where required, SUPABETS may prevent a customer from continued gaming in line with our Terms & Conditions.
We take compliance seriously and will report activities to licensing or state authorities as required by regulation.
Do you need help?
If you wish to speak to someone about your betting, please contact our Problem Gamblers Hotline on +27 xxx xxxx or email [email protected]. Our team is available every weekday between 08:00 – 17:00.
Other professional bodies
We also recommend installing filter software (e.g. Net Nanny, CyberPatrol) to help prevent underage access to betting sites.
